AdBlue works in tandem with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology to reduce harmful emissions from diesel engines. When a vehicle's engine burns diesel fuel, it produces nitrogen oxides (NOx) as a byproduct, which are harmful pollutants.
The AdBlue solution is injected into the exhaust system of diesel-powered vehicles equipped with SCR. Inside the SCR catalyst, the AdBlue reacts with the NOx emissions in the exhaust. This chemical reaction converts the harmful nitrogen oxides into harmless nitrogen and water vapor.
By introducing AdBlue into the exhaust stream, SCR technology helps to significantly lower the emission of harmful pollutants, making diesel engines more eco-friendly and compliant with stringent emission standards.
